The Benefits of Hydro Jetting
Sometimes we can clear a drain by snaking it. But not always. That’s when it’s time to consider hydro jetting as a more comprehensive solution.
The purpose of hydro jetting is to completely scour the inside of a drain pipe. Snaking, by contrast, may only poke a hole through a larger mass; sure, it gets your drain flowing again, but it’s only a matter of time before the clog may re-form.
You don’t want that to happen, and neither do we.
What is Hydro Jetting?
Our service trucks are equipped with hydro jetters, powerful machines that use a high-pressure continuous flow of water to thoroughly clear out most drains without harsh chemicals. Hydro jetting, the eco-friendly alternative, also removes sludge, grease, lime scale, and other deposits likely to cause problems.
Our hydro jetters also are equipped with inter-changeable attachments. That way, we can adapt to different size drain pipes and the unique make-up of each clog. If, for example, tree or shrub roots have infiltrated an underground sewer line, we have the means to cut through the obstruction. Simultaneously, a high-pressure spray of water will push the cut-up roots through and out the pipe.
No drain snake in the world can do what hydro jetting does.
When is Hydro Jetting Beneficial?
Here are a few examples:
- The same drain clogs up time and again
- Video inspection reveals tree and shrub roots are causing the clog
- When you consistently pour FOG (fats, oil, and grease) down your drain and, over time, they harden and form a solid obstruction
- A proactive move to prevent troublesome clogs from forming
